The Federal Antimonopoly Service will assess the economic validity of communication operators' tariffs for marking incoming calls. As reported to "Vedomosti" by the agency, the reason was an appeal from banks and financial organizations – the NSFR confirmed the fact of the request to the FAS.
Currently, operators charge 0.25 rubles for each call attempt, while simultaneously receiving payment for the duration of the conversation. Banks state that it is unclear to them how this figure was formed, and they question it precisely from the perspective of price formation, rather than rejecting the marking itself.
The position of the financial sector is that the fulfillment of such an obligation by commercial structures is possible only if the price is set and controlled by the state. In fact, banks are seeking to transfer marking from the category of a contractual service to a regulated one, so that the tariff does not become subject to arbitrary pricing by operators.
