The most powerful Russian RISC-V microcontroller with two cores and error protection has entered testing

The new chip with Ethernet support and cryptography is intended for industrial control systems and industry

A new stage has begun as part of the RISC-V DEVBOARDS early access program. Engineers will receive boards with the latest K1921VG1T microcontroller from NIIET (part of GK "Element"). This is the institute's most powerful RISC microcontroller.

The K1921VG1T is a dual-core chip for industrial systems. It is the first to implement lockstep support: the two cores operate synchronously and check each other for errors. The microcontroller features Ethernet 10/100/1000, CAN, cryptography (AES, "Kuznechik", "Magma"), as well as built-in diagnostics. Frequency is up to 204 MHz, memory is 4 MB (main) and 512 KB (additional with error correction). It operates at temperatures from -40 to +105 °C.

Participants will be provided with development boards featuring the chips, peripherals, and software for testing. The RISC-V DEVBOADS program is the first in Russia where developers can get early access to domestic microcontrollers based on the open RISC-V architecture. Its goal is to introduce Russian electronics into industry, education, and the innovator environment.
