A Living Legend: an Extremely Rare Light-Lilac GAZ-21 Volga in Authentic Condition Found in St. Petersburg

The car has never been restored and has remained in one family

A unique 1966 GAZ-21R Volga has been put up for sale in an extremely rare factory color — light lilac. Cars were painted in this color at the factory for only one year, and only a handful have survived to this day. The car spent its entire life in one family, and the current owner is only the second one.

The car has not been restored; rather, it has simply been well preserved since Soviet times: the body was repainted once without any filler work, about 80% of the original plastic has survived inside, and only the steering wheel and some handles have been replaced with high-quality reproductions.

The Volga is technically sound, with no complaints about its operation. The car is a known figure in the retro community: it has taken part in numerous vintage rallies, events, and exhibitions, including abroad, and has appeared in films multiple times. The owner is selling the car \"with a heavy heart\" due to the lack of opportunity to attend events often. It goes out only 2–3 times over the summer; the rest of the time it is kept preserved in a dry garage.
