NtechLab's Digital Big Brother Will Be Deployed to Search for Cars on Yamal's Roads

The Rostec partner's system instantly checks vehicles against wanted databases and alerts law enforcement

In the near future, a neural network from NtechLab will begin operating in Yamal, capable of literally finding the required vehicles in dense traffic within fractions of a second. This is no longer about the future - the technology is ready for deployment: it will track cars based on wanted notices and immediately send alerts to law enforcement agencies.

The neural network from the technology partner of the Rostec state corporation analyzes video streams from road cameras. The system recognizes vehicles by license plate, model, and color, after which it automatically checks the data against a database of cars being tracked by law enforcement.

The technology is capable of identifying vehicles that are wanted, listed as stolen, or that fled the scene of a traffic accident or crime. In effect, this is a system that can instantly "pick out" the required vehicle from the general flow without human involvement.

Such solutions are already being actively used: on city streets, squares, transport hubs, in shopping centers and even at gas stations. At the core is the FindFace Multi system, launched in 2023, which helps find criminals and missing people through video streams. Its functionality is being expanded - now the neural network is also beginning to be actively used in road infrastructure.

As of today, about 2,000 city cameras, as well as 20 road monitoring complexes, have been connected to the video analytics system in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. According to regional authorities, approximately every fourth crime is solved with the help of artificial intelligence.

In the future, neural networks are also planned to be introduced into other areas - public utilities, construction, and healthcare.
