Kalashnikov Concern has launched serial production of the unified RDG-U hand smoke grenade. The first batch of camouflage devices has already been shipped to the state customer. This was reported by the concern's press service.
The RDG-U grenade is an operational camouflage device that makes it possible to protect individual fighters, small units, and equipment from aimed enemy fire.
Advantages of the RDG-U:
- the explosive section creates a dense cloud of smoke
- the smoke-producing composition provides prolonged camouflage
- a composite body has been developed for safe operation
The smoke grenade is equipped with a safety-initiation mechanism. It weighs no more than 700 g. The RDG-U can be used at temperatures from -50°C to +55°C.
The camouflage item was developed by specialists of the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (JSC TsNIITochMash). A patent for the invention was obtained at the end of 2022. State trials were completed in early 2023.
