The Krasnoye Sormovo plant (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) held a ceremony to launch the RSD59 project self-propelled dry cargo vessel, "Perviy Tekhnicheskiy" was told in the USC press service. The "Volga-Don max" class vessel is designed for mixed navigation — it can operate both on sea and inland waterways, including limited areas.
The dry cargo vessel is equipped with two cargo holds and two full-circle rudder propellers (VRC). The vessel is capable of transporting general and bulk cargo, lumber, round timber, scrap metal, metal in bundles and rolls, oversized, long and heavy cargo, coal, as well as dangerous goods of category "B".
Technical specifications: length — 140.88 m, width — 16.98 m, board height — 6 m. Deadweight in the river is 5128 tons, at sea — 7535 tons. Draft — 3.6 m on the river and 4.53 m at sea. The volume of cargo holds is 11,292 cubic meters. Sailing autonomy — 20 days on the river and 12 at sea.
Ships of this project are distinguished by increased economy, environmental friendliness, and versatility.
