Residents of the Belgorod Region received SMS messages in the name of Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov warning of the threat of drone attacks on the regional center. The mailing, which came to subscribers of one of the mobile operators, was designed as a notification from the RSChS.
The head of the region in his Telegram channel reported that an investigation is being conducted to establish the causes of the incident. Later, he clarified that the check indicated a technical failure in the equipment, and not a deliberate disinformation or fake attack.
The incident affects the operation of the alert system in the border region with an increased level of UAV danger.
