Russian specialists have begun to use the heavy robotic complex "Belogor" for humanitarian demining. The automated platform outperforms a sapper in terms of efficiency. This was stated by Bogdan Pilipchuk, General Director of Emercom-Demining.
According to Pilipchuk, "Belogor" was developed in 2025.
It takes him 5 minutes to process 100 meters of an anti-personnel minefield.
And the productivity of one sapper per day will be about 15-20 meters, he explained.
The robot is the first to be sent to the minefield. Its main working unit (trawl) can withstand up to 6 detonations of anti-tank mines and a large number of anti-personnel mines.
If the trawl is damaged, it can be replaced in the field. This will take no more than half an hour, Pilipchuk added.
Usually, the robot activates up to 90% of mines, depending on their depth. After that, sappers enter the minefield and defuse the remaining explosive devices.
