"LanGPT" tested in 20 universities and ready to launch on the market

The new generation neural network is based on almost a million verified sources

Edtech company "Lan" has completed the pilot testing of the first AI assistant for higher education — "LanGPT", the company's press service told "First Technical". The service has already been tested in 20 universities from different regions of Russia and is available for implementation from April 2026. According to developers' forecasts, up to 30 organizations may connect to the system in the next six months, and up to 100 universities in 2027.

The company's CEO, Alexander Nikiforov, said that the new generation neural network is based on almost a million verified sources from the "Lan" electronic library system. The pilot confirmed the demand for the service as a tool for working with verified knowledge. Negotiations are already underway to connect 10 universities.

During the pilot project, the neural network was tested by 6.5 thousand users, and the service processed more than 37 thousand requests. The team checked the stability of the system, including in high-load scenarios typical of the educational environment — for example, during the session period. Special attention was paid to the infrastructure: the service operates on the company's own computing facilities located in Russia.

A user experience study showed that "LanGPT" was most often used to search for and study verified sources on a given topic (75% of respondents). In second place is the analysis and structuring of information (61%). This is followed by the preparation of educational materials and writing texts from scratch (28% each), the development of methodological materials, preparation for classes and exams, the generation of ideas (17% each), as well as the clarification of terms and definitions (14%). Users perceive "LanGPT" as an intelligent interface to academic knowledge.
