A subsidiary of KEMZ, which is part of the High-Precision Complexes holding of the Rostec State Corporation, shipped a 26-ton REM-25 compactor to another customer. The machine is designed to work at landfills of solid municipal and industrial waste.
The equipment is capable of not only leveling garbage, but also compacting it tightly: two studded rollers crush large fractions and press the mass to 1.3 tons per cubic meter. Thanks to this, three to six times more waste can be placed on the same area of the landfill than when using a conventional bulldozer.
Dense packing solves several problems at once. Voids are not formed inside the body of the landfill - this reduces the risk of fires and landslides. Less rainwater seeps deep inside, which means less contaminated leachate is formed. Uniform shrinkage of garbage simplifies land reclamation after the landfill is closed.
REM-25 is versatile: the machine can handle not only waste, but also soils, crushed stone mixtures and other bulk materials. It is used in the construction of roads, airfields, dams, port facilities and industrial zones.
The equipment has already proven itself at many landfills throughout the country. The next shipment confirms: the demand for reliable equipment for environmental infrastructure is growing, and Russian enterprises are ready to close these tasks with serial solutions.
