AI from Russia Takes Control of Shopping Center in South Africa

NtechLab's solution analyzes visitor flow, manages load, and records violations in real time

A Russian video analytics system based on artificial intelligence has begun operating in one of the major shopping centers in the Republic of South Africa. The solution was developed by NtechLab.

The neural network analyzes the stream from cameras in real time: it counts visitors and, as the load increases, signals the need to increase the number of employees. This allows for a faster response to queues and improves service.

In addition, the system monitors compliance with rules — for example, it records attempts to enter service areas and tracks whether cleaning staff are using protective equipment: masks and gloves.

The project is NtechLab's first case in South Africa and is being considered as a pilot for further scaling. The company is already discussing expanding cooperation.

Today, the developer's solutions are used in 34 countries — from Latin America and India to the Middle East, North Africa, and the CIS countries.
