150 Megawatts of New Energy: Lukoil Updates Krasnodar CHP Plant

Fully Russian equipment increased the plant's efficiency and reduced emissions by 100,000 tons per year

An updated power unit with a capacity of 150 MW, which has undergone a complete reconstruction, has been launched at the Krasnodar CHP plant. The project was implemented by Lukoil as part of the DPM-2 program, which aims to modernize generating capacity.

During the work, specialists replaced the "power island" - the key equipment of the unit - with modern Russian turbines and generators with increased efficiency. This made it possible not only to increase production, but also to reduce fuel consumption: savings will amount to about 63 thousand tons of standard fuel per year. In terms of ecology, this is minus 100 thousand tons of CO₂ equivalent emissions annually.

The updated unit will cover Krasnodar's growing need for electricity and heat, especially during peak winter periods. At the same time, the construction of the fifth power unit was launched at the site - it will also be built with state support under the DPM-2 mechanism.
