AI Secretary Appears in Yandex Mail: "Alice Pro" Reads and Responds

The neural assistant works with the texts of letters and attachments - from PDF to tables

Yandex Mail has launched a chat with Alice Pro, an AI assistant that helps you understand correspondence and solve everyday tasks. Now users can ask questions directly about the contents of their mailbox and receive ready-made answers.

The assistant can extract data from emails and summarize them. For example, it can calculate expenses from receipts, remind you of meeting details from call transcripts, or find the necessary data in correspondence. Instead of searching through emails, the user immediately receives a ready-made answer.

Alice Pro works not only with text, but also with attachments — PDFs, tables, documents and presentations. The search is not based on keywords, but on meaning: the system itself understands where to look for the necessary information and how to link it.

In addition to analyzing mail, the assistant can write letters from scratch, edit texts, and help with wording. It can also answer everyday questions — for example, suggest the weather or help plan a trip.

It is based on a generative model that combines knowledge from external sources and data from mail to form answers.

Yandex emphasizes that the assistant works in a secure environment: access to letters occurs only at the user's request, data is not saved and is not used for training.

Chat with Alice Pro is already available to Yandex 360 users, and will later appear in the corporate version.
