What has become an annoyance for ordinary users has turned into a working problem for deputies. The Telegram slowdown has hit one of the key communication tools — both within factions and with voters.
Deputies admit that the usual speed of communication has disappeared. Creating a common chat after a meeting, quickly gathering feedback, transferring files — all this has become more time-consuming and requires workaround solutions.
For a long time, Telegram was not just a messenger, but a full-fledged infrastructure: channels, chats, video communication, quick contact with the audience. Now, some functions either work unstably or require additional "crutches."
Telegram had and still has good information reach, a huge number of channels, convenient video communication, etc. But now, without the use of a number of services, video communication and calls are impossible, files are not uploaded.
Attempts to switch to alternatives are underway, but without much enthusiasm. New platforms do not provide the same reach, and the audience is simply in no hurry to go there. Channels in Telegram have been collected for years — and it will not be possible to transfer them in one click.
As a result, the main thing suffers — communication with people. For many deputies, a significant part of the appeals came through Telegram: through chats, comments, mentions. Now this chain is starting to break.
Some are already testing other services, including Max, but admit that there are still an order of magnitude fewer people there.
Of course, there are difficulties with communication, what am I going to deceive you for. I started a channel in Max, but I have very few people there so far. And there are no stories there. And my Telegram channel was formed over 5–6 years.
Against this background, old formats are beginning to revive in politics — offline meetings, paper materials, personal communication.
The situation showed a simple thing: Telegram has become not just an application, but part of the working environment. And when it starts to slow down, the whole system around it slows down too.
