In Russia, about 10 million people have already registered in the Unified Biometric System, with the main growth occurring in 2025 — when about 70% of all self-registrations were processed.
This data was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko at the Data Fusion forum. According to him, the service has begun to actively reach a mass audience.
The system allows confirming identity by face and voice without documents and personal presence — it is used for banking operations, access to online services, and obtaining government services. At the same time, the connection remains voluntary, and the data is protected at the legislative level.
The growing interest is due to the expansion of opportunities: biometrics is gradually becoming a familiar tool for everyday digital tasks.
