Dock Repair of the General Cargo Ship "Arktika-1" Built in the Netherlands Begins at Krasnaya Kuznitsa Plant

Shipbuilders of the "Krasnaya Kuznitsa" plant (Astrakhan) brought the general cargo ship "Arktika-1" (Bijlsma Trader 9000 project) into the floating dock M-32. This was reported by the press service of the shipbuilding enterprise.

The plant clarified that the workers will first assess the defects of the hull of the "Arktika-1" dry cargo ship and its equipment, and then approve a list of all works. As a rule, dock repair involves the restoration of the underwater part of the vessel. This includes cleaning the hull from old paint, repairing the propeller-rudder equipment (propeller and rudder).

At the end of March, the general cargo ship "Tambey" (A-type project) was removed from the floating dock. Specialists restored the outer hull plating and repaired the bottom-and-side fittings.

"Arktika-1" is a universal ice-class dry cargo ship built in 2001 in the Netherlands. The vessel transports general cargo (products in individual packaging, for example, in boxes), and is suitable for operation in harsh climatic conditions. It is registered to the port of Arkhangelsk.
