The cause of the crash of the An-26 military transport plane in Crimea was human factor. This was reported by a former military pilot, author of the Telegram channel Fighterbomber, citing the results of a preliminary investigation.
According to him, there were no failures on board, and there was no external impact on the aircraft either.
The cause of the disaster is human factor, as a result of which the crew began to perform a premature descent to perform the approach and collided with a rock at a distance of 30 km from the airfield.
The crash of the An-26 on the peninsula became known on April 1. Communication with the aircraft was lost on the evening of March 31, and its wreckage was later found in a mountainous area. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation noted that there were six crew members and 23 passengers on board. All of them died.
The Governor of the Murmansk Region, Andrei Chibis, stated that one of those killed in the plane crash was the commander of the mixed aviation corps of the Northern Fleet, Lieutenant General Alexander Otroshchenko.
