A photo of a Russian Su-34 bomber with a prototype of the UKR-RT "Sych" container complex, accompanied by two Su-27 fighters, has appeared online. Equipping combat vehicles with this equipment turns the aircraft into a full-fledged reconnaissance platform, the Telegram channel "Russian Weapon" reported.
Analysts noted that the suspended container turns the bomber into a tactical passive electronic intelligence aircraft for uncovering the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems.
The mass introduction of such a tool, provided it is effective, can significantly increase combat potential and the ability to effectively engage targets.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev stated that the complex includes three modules - optoelectronic (UKR-OE), radar (UKR-RL) and electronic intelligence (UKR-RT).
The Pika-M side-looking radar is capable of detecting targets such as a mobile HIMARS launcher at a distance of up to 230 km.
The electronic intelligence and optoelectronic modules will provide deep reconnaissance of positions, repeaters and enemy command posts in all weather conditions. But most importantly, the strike potential of the Su-34 is not affected in any way.
The same point of view was held in the West. Foreign analysts believe that after the modernization with "Sych", the Su-34M will fill the gap that formed after the decommissioning of the MiG-25RB reconnaissance aircraft in 2013.
