A "Volgo-Balt" type vessel carrying a cargo of wheat crashed in the waters of the Sea of Azov. The crew left the sinking ship and managed to reach the shore of the Kherson region.
Nine crew members were found on the shore - all citizens of Russia. One person, the chief mate born in 1991, died. The whereabouts of two more sailors remains unknown. Local residents were the first to help the victims - they met the crew and helped on the shore until the arrival of services.
The sailors are now receiving the necessary medical and psychological assistance. The circumstances of the incident are being established, and investigative measures are being carried out.
