Tracked Beast: Tor-M2 SAM System on Chassis from Kalashnikov Accurately Engages Aerial Targets

The complex on a highly maneuverable chassis is not afraid of off-road conditions and slush

Footage has appeared on the Telegram channel "Reporter Rudenko V" showing the crew of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system of the Dnepr troop group destroying an enemy strike drone with an accurate missile launch.

Tor-M2 is a highly maneuverable combat vehicle on a tracked chassis that is not afraid of any off-road conditions or spring slush. The armored tracked vehicle GM-5955.15-01, manufactured by the Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant (MMZ, part of the Kalashnikov concern), develops a speed of up to 80 km/h on the highway and 30 km/h on unpaved roads. The platform is optimally suited for the placement and transportation of SAM system equipment, and also provides its power supply.

The complex is armed with 9M330, 9M331 anti-aircraft guided missiles and their modernized versions. The missiles are placed in two transport and launch containers with 4 pieces each, the total ammunition load is 16 missiles. The mass of one missile is about 165 kg, the length is about 3 meters, the caliber is 235 mm. The affected area is up to 12 km in range and up to 6 km in height. The missiles are capable of hitting targets at speeds up to 700 m/s, are equipped with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead and a radio fuse, which ensures detonation at maximum proximity to the target. The Tor-M2 can fire at both single and group targets, simultaneously firing at up to four objects.
