Tankers on T-72B3M with standard "barbecue grills" practiced firing from a 14.5 mm caliber insert barrel at a training ground in Tajikistan

Crews of T-72B3M tanks of the 201st Guards military base practiced firing from standard weapons, as well as extreme driving of combat vehicles at the Lyaur training ground in Tajikistan. This was reported in the press service of the Central Military District (CVO).

The tankers fired from a 14.5 mm caliber insert barrel (the "insert" is used for training firing) using armor-piercing incendiary tracer (BZT) bullets. The ballistics of the BZT is similar to a 125 mm caliber armor-piercing cumulative projectile, for example, the 3BK18M projectile (for the T-72).

Static and dynamically appearing targets are engaged from a stationary position and on the move. Special attention is paid to the coordination of actions within crews and tank platoons, and the practice of single and simultaneous target engagement.

Mechanics-drivers improved their driving skills of the T-72B3M with standard "barbecue grills" (a welded structure on the roof of the tank to protect against drones) in mountainous terrain. They covered a distance of 5000 m, overcoming minefields and anti-tank ditches.

The Russian 201st Guards military base is stationed in Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes tank units equipped with T-72B1/B3 combat vehicles. BMP-2M and BTR-82A, S-300PS Favorit air defense systems are also in service.
