Su-57 Production Accelerates: KnAAZ Combines Three Processes Under One Roof

Aircraft Plant Launches Unified Titanium Processing Line

The Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant (KnAAZ) named after Yu. A. Gagarin in the Khabarovsk Territory has fully completed the technical re-equipment of the electroplating shop. The result of the large-scale work was the unification of three key technological processes within a single titanium processing line.

KnAAZ Director Yuri Kondratyev stated that the plant sought to create the most efficient production possible, capable of solving the most complex tasks.

Combining processes under one roof is not just a matter of convenience, it is a technological necessity that allows us to guarantee quality at all stages.
Yuri Kondratyev, Director of KnAAZ

The project took almost a year to complete. The use of domestic painting and drying complexes will reduce production time and improve the quality of work.

The stable temperature and humidity regime provided by the new installations minimizes the likelihood of coating defects.

It should be noted that KnAAZ regularly modernizes its production facilities. For example, in November 2025, they introduced the latest anodizing bath cooling system using winter cold.

As a reminder, KnAAZ is the main manufacturer of fifth-generation Su-57 fighters and fourth-generation Su-35S fighters. The plant has already been loaded with orders until 2030.
