The idle tests of the new domestic PR-30/35 turbo unit have been successfully completed at the Severskaya TPP. The tests confirmed the full operability of the turbine and its readiness for start-up under load.
The turbo unit with a nominal capacity of 30 MW was supplied by the Kaluga Turbine Plant. During the tests, steam was supplied from the boiler shop, and the rotor was gradually accelerated to 3000 rpm. Adjusters checked all the main systems — high and low pressure steam supply, cooling, protection, regulation, lubrication, oil temperature and vibration. All parameters were normal.
Now the station is preparing for hot tests under load in April, then 72-hour comprehensive tests will be carried out in May, after which the turbo unit will be connected to the grid.
This is a key stage in the modernization of the Severskaya TPP, which has been underway since 2020. As part of the project, two modern turbo units were installed, the boiler units of the second stage were reconstructed, and a new flue gas cleaning system was installed. All the main and auxiliary equipment, including automation systems, is manufactured at Russian plants. More than ten domestic enterprises are involved in the work.
