At the enterprise JSC "Reshetnev", which is part of the state corporation "Roscosmos", the production of flexible printed cables entirely from Russian materials has been mastered. The development is already being used in the assembly of the control unit of the onboard retransmission complex for the spacecraft "Luch-5VM". These cables provide all electrical connections inside the device.
Compared to traditional wires, the new solution is more compact, easier to install, and has a simpler manufacturing technology. Experts note that the use of flexible printed cables allows optimizing the weight and size characteristics of the equipment and reducing the production time of onboard devices.
The technology is planned to be scaled up: in the future, it will be used in the creation of new generation satellites. The possibility of using the development in manned space projects, where the reliability and ergonomics of connections play a critical role, is also being considered.
