Case on the supply of defective components for Iskander missiles to be reviewed

Former managers of Prime LLC sent used products to NTC Elins; the court overturned the lenient punishment

The Second Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction has sent the criminal case on the supply of substandard components for JSC NTC Elins for review. The company produces electronics for radar and fire control systems.

The court sentenced former managers of Prime LLC to suspended sentences, finding them guilty of fraud amounting to 25 million rubles. The investigation established that instead of new components, in 2016–2017, the company supplied refurbished products that had already been in use.

The prosecutor's office considered the punishment too lenient. The defendants did not compensate for the damage, and the risk of consequences turned out to be critical. The instance overturned the lenient sentence for the defendants and sent the case for a new trial.

Now the accused may face up to 10 years of imprisonment. The case will be reconsidered by a different panel of the court.

NTC Elins produces electronics for Iskander missiles — product 9M723. The equipment modules are responsible for calculations in flight and are part of the Baget-83V onboard complex. The products also include the Vityaz digital system for modernizing the BMP-3 and other armored vehicles.
