Rosatom invests hundreds of billions of rubles in technological sovereignty projects

The state corporation intends to export not only nuclear technologies, but also a unified chain: from student training to the construction of facilities

Rosatom is allocating funds to support domestic developments that will eventually become part of the export offer. On Friday, March 27, 2026, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev stated that, despite budget constraints, the company is spending hundreds of billions of rubles on technological sovereignty projects. He also emphasized the importance of developing the sovereignty of the Russian Federation in foreign trade, logistics, science, and the military sphere.

The head of the state corporation noted that the whole world is moving towards the development of world trade, but it is important for Russia to strengthen its own sovereignty in foreign trade, logistics, science, and the military sphere.

What projects is Rosatom developing

Likhachev added that Rosatom has technological projects in the fields of ecology and wind generation. At the same time, according to him, foreign partners want to receive with the help of the Russian state corporation "a unified chain of technologies: from training students to specific objects, including construction and operation".
