F200 Van by Russo-Balt Begins Road Tests

The unique "Russian Cybertruck" is equipped with a 200-horsepower electric motor

The Russian company Russo-Balt has started full-fledged proving ground tests of the F200 electric van. The car is already being called the "Russian Cybertruck": the angular design, chopped shapes, and stainless steel body clearly refer to the Tesla pickup. The engineers waited for the test tracks to thaw after winter and brought the prototype out to test its driving performance.

Specialists are evaluating the operation of the suspension and electronics, measuring the load on the motor during acceleration and braking, and checking the rigidity of the body and stability in corners. According to preliminary results, most parameters exceeded the calculated values. All comments are recorded: the team is already preparing improvements for the next version of the body to improve technical and operational characteristics.

The F200 van is equipped with a 200-horsepower electric motor on the front axle. The traction battery capacity is 115 kWh, and the claimed range reaches 400 kilometers. The payload capacity is 1000 kg, and a "B" category license is sufficient for driving. The company notes that the car is intuitive to drive and does not require special training.

A key feature is the stainless steel body. The manufacturer claims a warranty on it for up to 100 years, which echoes Tesla's approach to the body material of the Cybertruck, but with an emphasis on durability in Russian conditions.

Next week, engineers will check the real energy consumption at full load and confirm the declared payload capacity. At the same time, documents are being prepared to obtain vehicle type approval. Russo-Balt plans to complete certification and reach the final stage before the start of production by the end of 2026.
