The "Truffle" remote control module has been supplied to units of the Moscow Military District. The system works with 12.7-mm Kord and NSV machine guns and gives the operator complete control outside the firing point.
The complex transmits video in real time and allows aimed fire at a distance of up to 2 km. The module includes a machine, an optical-sighting station and a remote control.
The optics combine a laser rangefinder, a thermal imager and a night vision device, so the module remains effective day and night.
The operator controls the fire via a wired communication line from cover. Power is supplied by a battery: autonomy - up to two days without recharging.
The software shows the consumption of ammunition and the remainder of the belt, and also gives a choice of mode - single shots, bursts of 3, 5 and 10 rounds or continuous fire.
Earlier, servicemen of the repair battalion of the 20th Combined Arms Army showed a prototype of a self-developed system that allows remote control of a machine gun. The operator can sit at least underground, safely sheltered from damage.
