Six KamAZ-52222 A5 generation electric buses hit route No. 214 in the Eastern District of Moscow

Six KamAZ-52222 A5 generation electric buses of Russian production have been launched on route No. 214 in the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow. This was announced by Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov in the Department of Transport channel in Max. The route runs from Southern Izmailovo to the Shosse Entuziastov metro station and the MCC station of the same name. The new electric buses serve residents of four districts. Since the beginning of 2026, electric buses have been launched on 10 more routes in five districts — SVAO, VAO, YuAO, YuZAO and NAO. On weekdays, more than 50 vehicles run on the new routes, and passengers make over 30 thousand trips daily.

KamAZ-52222 A5 generation: what has changed in the new version

The A5 electric bus has an expanded cabin — the middle and rear doors now open outwards. The storage areas for strollers and bicycles are now 15% wider. Special places for hand luggage are allocated in the front of the cabin. Green and red door lighting indicates the beginning and end of boarding. The climate system has been updated.

Before entering the routes, the A5 prototype was tested in various weather and road conditions at the Mitino Electric Bus House.
