Russia Enters G20 Top for Unlimited Internet Prices

Only India has cheaper connection, the most expensive is in the USA

Russia took second place among the G20 countries in terms of the cost of unlimited fixed Internet. In our country, the average price of unlimited access with a speed of 60 Mbps or more is 658.6 rubles per month.

A lower rate among the G20 countries was recorded only in India — 600.4 rubles. Finam analyst Leonid Delitsyn linked the price accessibility to high competition in the market.

Today, the largest providers are Rostelecom, Er-Telecom and all federal mobile operators, their fierce competition and significant investments have led to a decrease in the cost of access.

China took third place — 902.7 rubles per month. Next are Turkey (1161.5 rubles), Brazil, South Korea and Indonesia — about 1700 rubles.

The Internet is more expensive in Argentina (more than 2000 rubles) and Mexico (almost 2500). In Italy, Japan and France, tariffs exceed 2500 rubles, in South Africa — more than 3000 rubles. In the UK, the figure reaches 3507 rubles.

The top five countries with the most expensive access included the USA (5972 rubles), Saudi Arabia (5625.6 rubles), Canada (5106.3 rubles), Australia (4750 rubles) and Germany (4035.7 rubles).
