Rutube has added a "Preload" function that allows you to save videos in advance directly in the browser. The video is fully loaded and remains available for viewing even in the event of a sudden loss of Internet. Now you can watch your favorite videos without interruptions, regardless of the quality of the connection.
The "Full" mode loads the entire video completely, and the selected preload method is saved for all subsequent videos within the same session. This means that the user will not have to reconfigure the player every time — the videos will be ready for viewing immediately after opening the page. There is no similar solution on the Russian market yet — only Rutube can provide stable viewing without a network.
Turning on the function is simple: just open the video, go to the player settings and select "Preload" — "Full". While only one video can be downloaded at a time, the system will immediately tell you if there is not enough memory and offer to free up space to store the video.
The function works for all users — authorized and without an account, on desktop and Android. The iOS version will be available very soon. Thanks to preloading, even on a weak connection or on the go, users will be able to calmly watch content without wasting time waiting for loading and without encountering video interruptions.
