Wildberries attributed negotiations to purchase Azur air: the airline denies the deal

Representatives of the carrier stated that there are no discussions with potential buyers

Information appeared in Telegram channels about the possible purchase of the charter airline Azur air by the united company Wildberries & Russ (RVB). It was reported that the marketplace was allegedly negotiating the acquisition of the carrier to develop its own tourism direction.

According to sources, the deal was allegedly planned to be closed by May, and interest in the airline was associated with the expansion of RVB's tourism business. In the fall, the company already acquired one of the largest Russian tour operators, Fun&Sun, from structures of Alexey Mordashov's Severgroup for approximately 15–16 billion rubles. After that, the launch of joint tourism projects was announced, including a network of branded hotels in Egypt and Turkey under the WB Travel brand.

It was also reported that part of Azur air's summer flights are formed under Fun&Sun's tourism programs, and the airline itself has recently faced a number of problems — regulator checks, flight delays, and restrictions from aviation authorities.

However, the airline itself stated that the information about the sale is not true.

AZUR air categorically denies the information about negotiations for the sale of the airline, which is being spread in some Telegram channels. This data is completely untrue. Negotiations for the sale of the company are not being conducted, and there are no relevant discussions with any potential buyers. The airline continues to operate its declared flight program in full
