Aircraft Assembler-Riveter of MC-21 Assembled a Buggy with His Own Hands

Aircraft factory worker turned an old "nine" into a passable off-road vehicle. The master's plans include creating a tracked all-terrain vehicle

Evgeny Vorobyov, an employee of the assembly and assembly production of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (IAP), is engaged in the construction of equipment in his free time from his main job. Recently, he presented the result of his work - an off-road buggy, created on the basis of the domestic VAZ-2109 car.

Evgeny's interest in mechanics appeared at an early age. As a child, he watched his uncle, who was engaged in the repair of tractors, loaders and other heavy equipment. This experience influenced the choice of path. Already at the age of twelve, in his father's garage, Evgeny independently assembled his first moped. The acquired skills came in handy in his adult life at work, and in his personal hobby.

The idea to create a buggy came after the man studied a foreign project for assembling such machines. Evgeny decided to adapt the concept to affordable domestic parts. He purchased a VAZ-2109 car as a donor.

The conversion process required a serious approach. The master removed suitable components and assemblies from the car, and handed over the rest to scrap metal. The proceeds went to the purchase of missing materials and components. As a result, an impressive vehicle with high cross-country ability turned out from a standard passenger car.

Evgeny is not going to stop there. He plans to develop his hobby and move on to more complex projects. Now his plans include the construction of a tracked all-terrain vehicle. The master has already begun to study drawings, select the necessary parts and prepare metal for the new structure. The skills honed at the aircraft factory allow him to implement technical ideas of any complexity.
