The Internet has discarded everything unnecessary: only websites from the "white list" are opening in Moscow

Communication works selectively, and some base stations remain disabled

The system of so-called "white lists" of mobile Internet has started working in Moscow. According to sources in the telecom market, the mechanism previously functioned unstably or did not work at all, but now it has begun to be applied in a number of districts of the capital.

The system involves pinpoint access to the mobile Internet. Communication is returning gradually, but only certain services and applications included in a special list can connect to the Network.

Such lists usually include government services, banking applications, navigation, individual taxi and delivery services, as well as some other resources necessary for the operation of urban infrastructure.

At the same time, the system does not operate in all areas of the city. In some parts of Moscow, some base stations remain disabled, so mobile Internet may still be intermittent.

Signs of the new scheme are already noticeable in the city's infrastructure. In particular, in the Moscow metro, mobile Internet functions precisely on the principle of a "white list" - the network is available only for a limited set of services.

The largest telecom operators - MTS, Megafon, Beeline and T2 - have not yet commented on the situation. A request about the operation of the system has been sent to Roskomnadzor.

Problems with communication and mobile Internet in the capital have been observed since March 6. It was previously reported that restrictions were introduced for security reasons, and operators may have received an order to restrict the operation of mobile Internet in certain areas of the city.

The disruptions have already affected businesses. According to experts, the total damage for five days amounted to 3 to 5 billion rubles. The most affected were services directly dependent on a stable Internet: courier services, taxis, car sharing and retail enterprises.
