Rosaviatsiya registered 52 new domestically produced aircraft in 2025, the agency reported following a board meeting.
The total fleet of airlines operating commercial transportation includes 1,191 airplanes and 933 helicopters. Agreements have been concluded for the supply of the LMS-901 "Baikal" aircraft and Ka-226 helicopters in an agricultural version for the technical re-equipment of the fleet. Aviation works are performed by 417 operators, 177 of which use unmanned aviation systems.
Prospective domestic aircraft are being considered for the training of flight personnel in subordinate educational institutions: "Tango" and Yak-119 training aircraft, as well as the "Ansat" helicopter.
LMS-901 "Baikal" is a light multipurpose aircraft developed as a replacement for the An-2 on local airlines. It is designed for nine passengers and can be operated from unpaved and snow-covered runways.
Ka-226 is a light multipurpose helicopter with a coaxial scheme, produced in several versions, including for aerial chemical work in agriculture.
52 new aircraft per year is a modest figure against the background of a fleet of 2,100 units, a significant part of which is still foreign equipment that lost Western service after 2022.
