Employers in Russia are interested in foreign specialists to work in high-tech industries. This was stated by Alexander Vaino, Director of the "Young Professionals" Department of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).
Today, Russia has the greatest demand for specialists in high-tech industries: microelectronics, hydrogen technologies, aerospace industry, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
According to him, process engineers, programmers and design engineers are in demand. Russia is waiting for scientists with patents, businessmen, graduates of top world universities and representatives of creative industries. The best minds should know about the advantages of self-realization in our country, Vaino noted.
In December 2025, President Vladimir Putin signed decree No. 883, aimed at attracting foreign specialists to Russia, the ASI representative recalled. Personnel are needed in the manufacturing and extractive industries, energy, communications, education and healthcare.
The program to attract foreign specialists is supervised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and ASI. Obtaining impatriate status takes up to 125 days. Such people can apply for a temporary residence permit (TRP) outside the quota. Impatriates will also not have to take a Russian language exam.
