The Moscow Department of Transport recommended that drivers plan their routes in advance, bypass flower markets and shopping centers, and, if possible, switch to the metro and MCD. The head of the department, Maxim Liksutov, warned of heavy traffic near points of attraction throughout the holiday weekend. According to forecasts by TsODD analysts, from March 6 to 8, the number of cars on the roads will increase by more than 2% compared to the previous week.

The greatest load is expected at the Rizhsky market, the main wholesale point of flower trade in the city. The approaches to it are already in 10-point traffic jams: the TsODD records violations of stopping, tow trucks are working. According to sellers interviewed by BFM, buyers spend from 40 minutes to two hours in the queue for access, and this is not yet the peak - the main flow is expected from Friday to Sunday. The Mira Avenue, Novorizhskaya overpass, Bolshaya Pereyaslavskaya and Trifonovskaya streets, Vodoprovodny and 2nd Krestovsky passages will be overloaded - the travel time there may increase by two to four times, the Department of Transport warns. From 00:00 on March 6 to 20:00 on March 8, parking and taxi stands are prohibited on the section between Vodoprovodny Lane and Mira Avenue.

Those who still go for flowers by car, taxi drivers interviewed by Business FM, advise to leave it in paid parking lots at the stations "Botanichesky Sad", "Rostokino" or "Alekseevskaya" and take the metro to "Rizhskaya" - on March 8 and 9 parking there is free. An alternative is the wholesale market at the Kievsky railway station: it is easier to get there, the prices are comparable. Tulips at the Rizhsky market cost from 30 to 200 rubles per piece, depending on the variety, the sellers told the publication.

Difficulties are also predicted in the center - near the Kievskaya metro station, on Kuznetsky Most, Pyatnitskaya, Bolshaya Nikitskaya, Mokhovaya, Varvarka, Petrovka and in Teatralny Proezd, according to the TsODD. An additional burden will be created by the shortened working day on Friday: the evening departure will begin as early as 15:30, the Department of Transport specified. The TsODD situation center will monitor the situation around the clock.
