The fleet of the Marine Rescue Service has been replenished with a new vessel. At the Yantar shipbuilding plant, a ceremony was held to raise the State Flag of the Russian Federation aboard the emergency rescue vessel "Voevoda." The vessel was built under Project 23700 and is now ready to carry out tasks to ensure safety at sea.
The technical documentation was developed by the Northern Design Bureau. The vessel's history began in December 2016, when the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade signed a construction contract.
During construction, shipyard specialists and designers monitored the vessel's compliance with the stated requirements. Now, after all procedures have been completed, "Voevoda" has officially been handed over to the customer.
Despite the fact that the vessel was originally designed for emergency rescue operations, discussions about its true purpose have been ongoing for quite some time. According to one version, the vessel may carry specialized secret equipment for underwater operations. There is no official confirmation of this.
