The Pervouralsk Novotrubny Plant (PNTZ) will mothball pipe-rolling Workshop No. 1 due to the economic inexpediency of further operating its capacities. The line is equipped with pre-war-era machinery that is significantly less efficient than modern pipe-rolling units, the company's press service said.
Given the current dynamics of demand for pipe products in Russia, continued operation of the workshop has become unprofitable for PNTZ .
Nevertheless, the workshop's equipment will be kept in working condition, the workshop will remain connected to electricity and water supply, and at any moment, if the economic environment improves, it will be able to return to operation.
The company noted that the workshop's personnel will be employed in other PNTZ divisions or at enterprises in the city.
The Pervouralsk Novotrubny Plant is part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company, the largest manufacturer of these products in Russia.
