Specialists of the missile and artillery combat unit of the small missile ship (MRK) "Burya" (project 22800 "Karakurt") conducted a test firing in the Baltic Sea using the "Pantsir-M" naval anti-aircraft missile system. This was reported in the press service of the fleet.
A missile target launched from the Baltic Fleet's corvette "Boyky" was used as a target.
The target was hit by two missiles. The fact of the target's destruction was confirmed by objective control data.
The press service of the Baltic Fleet added that the firing from the "Pantsir" was carried out as part of the state tests of the warship.
About MRK "Burya"
The ship was built by shipbuilders of the "Pella" plant in the Leningrad region. It was launched in October 2018.
In the spring of 2024, the press service of the Baltic Fleet reported that "Burya" is undergoing state tests in the Baltic. After their completion and confirmation of all characteristics, the MRK will join the formation of missile ships and boats of the Baltic Naval Base.
"Burya" is a carrier of "Caliber" and "Onyx" missiles. It is also equipped with modern electronic warfare weapons, artillery installations (AK-630), and portable anti-aircraft missile systems "Igla".
