India was denied access to the Rafale code - Su-57 has a new chance

MWM: against this backdrop, the Russian aircraft may strengthen its position in negotiations with New Delhi

France has not provided India with access to the source code and key electronic systems of the Dassault Rafale fighter aircraft. This was reported by Military Watch Magazine (MWM), citing sources.

This concerns the software of the onboard systems and the electronic warfare suite. According to MWM, restrictions on technology transfer may complicate the modernization and adaptation of the aircraft to the requirements of the Indian Air Force.

Against this backdrop, the Russian Su-57 is gaining an additional chance in New Delhi's tenders, journalists said. Moscow is ready to discuss deeper technological access, following a model previously used in deliveries of the Su-30MKI, they noted.

MWM emphasized that the issue of operational autonomy and the ability to integrate national systems remains key for India.

Media in India reported that the local government is in no hurry to sign a contract for the localization of Su-57 production in the republic and is expecting a detailed cost report on the project from Russia.

Analyst Stanislav Fedchishin also explained that for India, the key condition of the contract for Su-57E deliveries is specifically the transfer of technologies. For Russia, such a deal could prove highly profitable, aviation expert Roman Gusarov told www1.ru.
