More than 250 unique crystals were transferred by ALROSA to the exposition "Treasury of Yakutia", the company said.
The collection was replenished with 238 fancy colored diamonds — including purple, green-yellow, yellow, orange-brown and other unique specimens. Another 18 crystals received their own names due to their unusual shape and natural features: "ALROSA Symbol", "Needle", "Fly", "Flower", "Peacock Feather", "Spinning Top", "Heart" and others.
The selection of rare diamonds was carried out by specialists of the United Sales Organization together with Gokhran of Yakutia.
Earlier it was reported that a rare jewelry-quality diamond weighing 228.62 carats was mined in the Arkhangelsk region. The size of the crystal is 50.5 × 30.6 × 18.6 mm. According to preliminary classification, the stone belongs to the second type of diamonds with a minimum nitrogen content. Such specimens are extremely rare — less than 1% of all natural diamonds.
