The opening ceremony of the international exercises "MILAN-2026" took place in the port of Visakhapatnam in India. The frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov" (Project 1155M) of the Pacific Fleet will take part in them.
During the event, a foot parade of sailors took place. The day before, the Russian frigate took part in a fleet review in the Bay of Bengal.
What is known about the "MILAN-2026" exercise program
From February 21 to 24, the crew of the "Marshal Shaposhnikov" will conduct artillery fire at various types of targets. Russian sailors will also inspect the ships of conditional violators threatening the safety of civil navigation, practice actions to rescue those in distress, and perform air defense elements together with ships of other participants in the "MILAN-2026" exercises.
Maneuvers with the Indian Navy take place once every two years, starting in 1995. This year, the delegation was headed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Alexander Moiseev.
