Umo electric vehicle production started at the Moskvič plant

The production volume in 2026 is planned at the level of 3 thousand units

The production of electric and hybrid vehicles of the EVM company under the UMO brand has been established at the facilities of the Moskvič automobile plant. This was reported in the secretariat of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

The new product from EVM is the result of the joint efforts of business, the state and the Moscow City Hall.

Yandex acted as a technological partner of the project, which equipped UMO electric vehicles with artificial intelligence, its own navigation and multimedia services.

The first representative of the new brand was the electric UMO 5 based on the GAC Aion Y Plus crossover, specially designed for intensive urban use and taxi work. It is expected that the production volume of cars in 2026 will be 3 thousand units.

Technical characteristics of the UMO 5 electric vehicle:

  • Electric motor power — 204 hp
  • Power reserve — from 300 to 430 km depending on the season
  • Battery — lithium iron phosphate (LFP), capacity — 63 kWh.
  • Charging — from 20% to 80% — in approximately 30 minutes.
