New versions of the reconnaissance drones "Oko-2" and "Oko-3" with Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) have begun to be used in the Armed Forces of Russia. This was reported by the Scientific and Production Center (SPC) "Svarog".
Currently, reconnaissance at the tactical level is mainly conducted on quadcopters such as DJI Mavic, which have limited characteristics in terms of both time and distance.
"Oko-2" and "Oko-3" do not have such limitations. VTOL drones "can fly at high altitudes, carry more advanced optics, and fly automatically along a route," the developer's representative emphasized. Both UAVs support digital communication and are resistant to electronic warfare (EW) equipment.
The SPC "Svarog" also named the characteristics of the "Oko-3" scout.
