Series of 20/80 t friction slipway winches manufactured at KMZ

The device guarantees safe and controlled movement of vessels from water to land and back

The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) has produced a series of modern friction slipway winches with adjustable pulling force of 20/80 tons.

Winch manufactured at the KMZ plant

The winches are designed for use in automated slipway systems that provide safe and controlled lifting of vessels from water to shore and back. The development was fully carried out by the company's own design bureau, taking into account the specific technical requirements of customers.

One of the key advantages of the new line is the ability to quickly change the pulling force on the rope or hoist by simply replacing the rope leading block (block cage), without the need to rework the main structure of the equipment. The basic force is 196 kN (20 t), and when installing a set of two block cages forming a fourfold hoist, it increases to 784 kN (80 t). The frame of the friction winch is made of high-strength low-alloy steel and is designed for loads up to 80 tons.
