Import substitution of German systems: production of critical machine tool parts launched at Rostec

New equipment began testing before mass production

The machine tool holding company "STAN" (part of Rostec) has established the production of the first Russian tool magazine for automatic change of grinding wheels. Previously, such systems were manufactured by only one German company. This was reported in the press service of the state corporation.

Magazine for automatic change of grinding wheels

The tool magazine is designed specifically for grinding wheels. It holds up to 18 positions and automatically installs wheels in the motor spindle of the machine. One of the key features is the ability to work with wheels complete with a mandrel weighing up to 60 kg.

The development and manufacture of the first sample took about six months. The system is currently undergoing testing before mass production. The first products will be installed on SXS 512 TC grinding machines.

We have closed a critically important technological niche in the domestic machine tool industry. Today, this is a completely Russian solution - from design documentation, mechanics to software. In fact, we have become the second manufacturer of such tool magazines in the world.
Denis Chernyavsky, Deputy General Director of the STAN holding

At the beginning of next year, the STAN holding expects to receive a Russian production certificate for the new component. This will increase the level of localization of machine tools and their assessment within the framework of import substitution programs.

Earlier www1.ru reported that machine tool builders will be given up to 30 million rubles for new developments.
