The Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy (RSAU – MTAA named after K. A. Timiryazev) has begun testing a unique electric tractor on a dynamometer. This was reported in the press service of the university.
Our tractor can run on either diesel or electricity (or both).
The tractor was created in early February 2026 based on the MTZ-82.1 model. In electric mode, the model can be used for work in greenhouses and on livestock farms.
The noise level of the tractor is reduced several times, and there are no exhaust gases at all. This makes it possible to use it in enclosed spaces. In addition, the use of electric mode in the public sector, for example, for snow removal, helps to avoid noise pollution for residents.
Dynamometer tests are a key step before the start of mass production. The tests will assess the efficiency of all systems, verify the confirmed characteristics, and ensure the reliability of the hybrid power plant.
