Telegram has blocked about 230,000 channels and groups in the last 24 hours. They did not comply with the messenger's rules.
The indicator reached a record level since January 23, 2026. Then the messenger administration blocked more than 348 thousand communities.
The number of blocked channels in Telegram has reached 7.2 million since the beginning of 2026.
Roskomnadzor began to slow down the messenger's operation in October 2025. At first, the restrictions only affected the southern regions of Russia. Since February 2026, the service has been working worse throughout the country. The reason for the restrictions was that the platform did not fully comply with the requirements of Russian legislation.
Earlier, the State Duma stated that the Telegram administration communicates with Roskomnadzor, the platform still has the opportunity to comply with the requirements of the Russian regulator.
