Rospotrebnadzor has blocked about 3,000 Internet resources with information on the retail sale of prohibited biologically active additives (BAA) in Russia. This was reported in the press service of the department.
Among the blocked sites are advertisements, product cards and pages of online stores offering products without registration and with prohibited components: weight loss pills, thyroid preparations, lymphatic drainage drinks. Sleep capsules and anti-stress remedies with gamma-aminobutyric acid, which is a pharmaceutical substance and is prohibited in dietary supplements, have also been identified.
The catalogs contain products with animal melatonin and vitamin D3 in a dose of 125 mcg (5,000 IU), which exceeds the permissible limit for food additives - 15 mcg (600 IU).
Rospotrebnadzor reminds that dietary supplements should be purchased only from official suppliers and in pharmacies, and registration documents should be checked. If you have doubts about the quality or origin of the product, you should contact the territorial authorities of the department or the hotline.
The sale of supplements with pharmaceutical substances or in dosages exceeding the norms is prohibited. Both online stores themselves and pages with information about the sale of such drugs are blocked.
